Founder
One Shot Foundation
In March 2021, Matt and his wife Kim founded the Matthew Mangine Jr. "One Shot" Foundation in memory of their son. Matthew Jr. was a 16-year-old soccer player who suffered a sudden cardiac arrest during practice on June 16, 2020, and passed away. Following this tragic incident, Matt and Kim recognized the importance of educating parents, coaches, and young athletes on how to keep children safe while playing sports.
Since its establishment in 2021, the Foundation has donated $90,000 of essential medical equipment in just three years. They have also spent $16,000 on training equipment and have trained over 7,500 coaches, teachers, and students in 26 school systems in the Southwest Ohio and North/Central Kentucky region.
Matt has twenty years of experience as a surgical consultant at Smith & Nephew Orthopedics. During his career, he held various sales and sales leadership roles. Apart from his work, he spent time coaching his children Matthew Jr. and Joseph's sports teams. Matt coached both his sons in football, soccer, and golf. Additionally, he served as a high school football coach from 1998 to 2000.
Matt and Kim have a 14-year-old son named Joseph, who was born in 2009. Joseph's passion is golf, and he regularly plays with his father, consistently beating him.
