Rowville, Victoria, Australia
John Haines has been professionally involved in the pre-hospital field for 40+ years, holding a wide range of portfolios during that time, including as a MICA Paramedic and Flight Paramedic, voluntary roles such as Deputy Chair of the Australian Resuscitation Council (New South Wales Branch), President of the First Aid Industry Alliance, Medical Review Advisory Board Member (Paramedicine), plus more.
His obsession over this journey has been to develop or help to develop new innovations to make it easier for people to save lives, ranging from a recovery position for unconscious suspected spinal injured patients (H.A.IN.E.S.), smart first aid learner guides, unique e-learning systems, smart first aid kits, and since 2016 has been heavily involved in the development of the world’s 1st ‘Personal Access’ defibrillator. Today he’s going to highlight why the Chain of Survival currently fails most people in their time of most need and how it can be remedied in many ways.
