Dr. Haigney is a board-certified cardiologist and electrophysiologist who attends in the Walter Reed Cardiology and Genetic Cardiology clinics. He is primarily concerned with identifying mechanisms of sudden cardiac arrest, including those related to genetically transmitted arrhythmia syndromes. His research combines basic and clinical investigations in a translational approach. He currently directs the Military Cardiovascular Outcomes Research program, funded by the Defense Health Agency to improve the cardiovascular health of active duty service members.
