Dr. De Jesús Martínez is a board certified pediatrician and current pediatric emergency medicine fellow at Baylor College of Medicine/Texas Children’s Hospital. She completed her Cellular-Molecular Biology bachelor’s degree and her medical degree at the University of Puerto Rico. She then completed her pediatric residency at Baylor College of Medicine. Her primary interests include health equity and improving communication with vulnerable populations. Dr. De Jesús has a background in medical education, specifically in medical Spanish communication. Her current research is focused on understanding communication breakdowns during high-acuity events with patients and families who speak languages other than English.
