Dr. Karen Perkins completed her medical school training at Drexel University's MCP Hahnemann School of Medicine in Philadelphia, PA. She completed a family medicine residency and then an obstetrical fellowship at Medstar Franklin Square Hospital Center in Baltimore, Maryland. She also completed a faculty development fellowship at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She currently is an associate professor of family medicine at Carilion Clinic in Roanoke, VA. Her practice has included care for patients of all ages from birth to death, and includes inpatient and outpatient medicine. She has served as the vice-director of the Compress and Shock Foundation since it's inception in 2017, and is committed to bringing the life-saving skills of bystander CPR and early AED use to all.
