Summary: It’s important to recognize that children and adults are different, resulting in differences in treatments and strategies. This presentation will update the audience on what's new in pediatric resuscitation, both out-of-hospital and in-hospital.

Synopsis: This presentation will provide an update on what’s new in pediatric resuscitation. In the out-of-hospital setting, there is further evidence for rescue breathing for children, highlighting the disparities in bystander response for children, particularly in marginalized neighborhoods. The presentation will also include teaching CPR in schools and preparedness in sports participation, including having emergency action plans and AEDs available on the sidelines. For the in-hospital setting, prevention of cardiac arrest and post-cardiac arrest treatment, the use of ECMO and targeted temperature management.

Understand the differences in pediatric and adult in-hospital and out-of-hospital cardiac arrest.
Understand where disparities and opportunities for improvement exist in pediatric cardiac arrest.
To describe strategies to prevent cardiac arrest and assure the best possible outcomes after a cardiac arrest in children.
