Summary: Description of a phased approach to rescue and resuscitation in a large health system through implementation of a proactive Rapid Response program.

Synopsis: This presentation will describe the evolution of a Rapid Response program in academic and community hospital settings including development of risk stratification, clinical decision support, standardized clinical workflows, training, and virtual care. Outcomes include decreased cardiac arrests, unplanned transfers to ICU and reduced risk adjusted mortality.

Learning Objectives:

Outline a structure for a hospital based Proactive Rapid Response program.
Describe outcome measures of a Proactive Rapid Response program.
This presentation will include ways to educate citizens that can lead to a comprehensive change to a culture of excellence and improved CPR training in the community, schools and workplace.
This presentation will include components of a high quality collaborative cardiovascular and resuscitation program in a dispatch, EMS and / or healthcare system that has demonstrated improvement in survival from SCA.
