I am a Public Health professional with four decades of experience and an AHA-certified Instructor in BLS. I am a co-trainer for Internees at the International Training Centre at Gandhi Medical College Hyderabad. I am a Lead Trainer in CPR-AED for Merquri Medica and conduct trainings for their clients across India. In the second innings of my life, I have dedicated my future years to training at least one person from every family in the neighborhood and the lay community at large in CPR and making sure to make myself available for telephonic advice when required. My focus is more on the lay public - hence my presentations which include hands-on practice, are filled with animated images and GIFs. My paper is on one such animated interactive power-point presentation that explains the importance of administering CPR correctly to reduce the incidence of rib-cage fracture! I use my skills in graphic designing tools to design such lay-people-worthy gifs. I believe in the concept of 'Visual literacy, where even an illiterate person understands what I try to convey. Moreover, laypeople find it difficult to understand complex medical concepts, and thats where my gifs and animations come in handy.
