Jim Bollenbacher is a Critical Care Paramedic with a passion for all things related to the heart, and in particular, cardiac arrest resuscitation. He has worked in Emergency Medical Services for 6 years including on ambulances, in Emergency rooms, and at music festivals and sporting events. He graduated from Indiana University of Pennsylvania with a degree in Criminology and from the Penn State, Dickinson School of Law. His Paramedic training was done at the Northwest Hospital EMS program outside of Chicago. He completed the Critical Care program at Creighton University.
Jim is an experienced speaker and educator having taught EMT and Paramedic courses and conducted numerous CPR classes. He is a strong supporter of the AHA's Hands Only CPR program which simplifies CPR for lay people and eliminates the need for mouth-to-mouth breathing. He is currently leading an effort by the Nassau County Medical Reserve Corps to train residents with a goal of increasing the rate of bystander CPR.
