Helen Smith began in the Ambulance Service in 2008 as a call handler progressing to Dispatcher and then Dispatch Team leader in 2022. She has served as the volunteer and school coordinator for the Restart a Heart Campaign since 2017 her role includes matching volunteers to a school and preparing them with the knowledge and materials they need to train students in the skill of CPR. Since 2014 Yorkshire Ambulance Service have taught over 250,000 young people CPR through the Restart a Heart campaign.
