Fiona Johnson is the Director of Johnson County Ambulance Service in Iowa City, Iowa and sits on the HEARTSafe Program Advisory Committee. With 27 years in EMS, Fiona has a passion to improve cardiac arrest survival rates in her county by increasing access to 24/7 AEDs and public education on the importance of the chain of survival and bystander intervention. Fiona oversees 100 paramedics and EMTs who provide 911 coverage to 624 square miles of Johnson County. After successfully becoming the fourth HEARTSafe Community in the nation, Fiona and her staff continue to use CARES data and an aggressive community campaign to improve survival statistics in Iowa.
