Brian Haskins is an Associate Professor of Paramedicine with the College of Sport, Health and Engineering at Victoria University. His main research interest is the empowerment of bystansders to provide hands-only cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and public access defibrillation should they witness an out-of-hospital cardiac arrest. He’s also currently collaborating with researchers from Monash University and Collingwood Football Club to develop a virtual reality training app to enable coaches, umpires and parent’s response appropriately to a player or spectator suffering a cardiac arrest, a spinal injury or a concussion.
