Leonie Hannappel is Deputy Director at the Institute for Emergency Medicine at the University Hospital Schleswig-Holstein. She has a master’s degree in Disaster Management and is a social worker with a broad experience in national and international emergency medical services and disaster management (Germany and South Africa). Until 2017 she provided project management in international disaster relief (earthquake in Haiti). Since 2018 as Deputy Director and Director Project Management at the Institute for Emergency Medicine, she is head of all third-party funded (research) projects (e.g. Resuscitation Academy, strategic COVID-19 intensive care transfer/strategic transfer of Ukrainian patients, quality management in disaster medicine etc.) and part of the management team for hospital disaster management at the University Hospital Schleswig-Holstein.
