Dr van Duijn is a lecturer in motor learning and skill acquisition at the University of Technology Sydney. She has a background in Sport and Exercise Science and a PhD in Sport Psychology. In her earlier work, she investigated the effect of using different instructional techniques such as implicit motor learning and analogy instructions on learning, performance and brain activity. More recently, Dr van Duijn has been conducting skill acquisition research in the field of water safety, life saving and first aid, and worked closely with the Swiss Lifesaving foundation, with whom she initiated research on the use of DIY manikins for teaching CPR.
