Elizabeth Cotter PhD, RN, NPD-BC is a Professor of Nursing at the Barbara H. Hagan School of Nursing and Health Sciences at Molloy University. Dr. Cotter teaches in both the undergraduate and doctoral nursing programs. Her research and scholarly pursuits include publications and presentations focusing on closing the gap between nursing education and nursing practice and mentorship . Her Cotter Preceptor Selection Instrument is being utilized in healthcare systems across the United States and abroad. Over the past 2 years, Dr. Cotter has been an active team member on the Heart Safe Committee. She participates in activities to increase public awareness of initiating CPR and utilizing the AED in a cardiac emergency event. Dr. Cotter has also worked with Dr. Moore in developing the Heartsafe Badge Credential for both Molloy University students and High School students. As a badge co-director, Dr. Cotter oversees that badge activities are completed according to the criteria.
