Lorrel E. B. Toft, MD is an Associate Professor of Medicine in Cardiology at the University of Nevada, Reno. She completed her medical school, Internal Medicine Residency, Chief Residency, and Cardiology Fellowship training at Johns Hopkins. She spent 5 years at the University of Louisville where she served as Cardiology Fellowship Program Director. Her skill as an educator was recognized with numerous awards including the Dean’s Outstanding Educator Award and the Trustee’s Educator Award. Her popular online lecture series has nearly 1 million views, and she is recognized as a national leader in cardiovascular education. She was awarded the ACC Young Investigator Award, the NYCIF 2017 Award for her work on CPR in high schools, and recently the 2021 American Heart Association Women in Cardiology Mentor Award. Her NIH-funded novel CPR teaching method, entitled “HEART CLASS” recently was awarded an Emmy (www.Heart-Class.com ).
