Summary: This session will review psychological distress survey data collected from PulsePoint responders that reacted to a nearby CPR-needed alert and explore measures the foundation is taking to assist responders that express mental health concerns.

Synopsis: The basis of this presentation will be psychological distress survey data collected from PulsePoint responders that reacted to a nearby CPR-needed alert and performed CPR or used an AED. In addition, the presentation will look at measures the foundation is exploring to assist responders that express mental health concerns. Learning Objectives:

After participating in this session, attendees will assess the frequency and degree of psychological distress experienced by lay responders assisting in a public safety agency-initiated CPR-needed alert via PulsePoint.
After participating in this session, attendees should be prepared with fundamental strategies and resources to provide comfort and support to community members providing care or witnessing a cardiac arrest event after responding to a PulsePoint CPR-needed-nearby request.
